What happens if you miss appointments

Every missed appointment ("DNA") is recorded in your medical record. If you miss two or more appointments within a 6-month period, without letting us know, here is what happens:

1. 2nd missed appointment in 6 months: We send you a letter listing the appointments you've missed, and remind you how to cancel in future. No further action is taken at this point.
2. 3rd missed appointment in the same 6 months: A GP Partner reviews your record. We write to tell you that your registration is under review and you may be removed from our list. You have 4 weeks to write to the Practice Manager if there were specific reasons you couldn't attend or cancel.
3. No response after 4 weeks: We send a final letter confirming your removal from the practice list, with immediate effect, and information on how to register with another GP practice.

Patient safety comes first

A GP Partner always reviews a patient's record before any decision to remove them from the list is made.

In the interests of safeguarding, if a decision is made to remove an adult from the practice list then any children/dependents will also need to leave the list and register at the same GP surgery as their parent/legal guardian.
