How to Request an Appointment

All of our patients have a named GP. Please ask at reception if you didn’t know who yours is. It is sometimes best to try and book appointments with your named GP, especially if you have ongoing issues. You can however see anyone of one our doctors or nurses if you so wish.

As a courtesy we send text massage reminders about your appointment. It is your responsibility to remember your appointment. Please do not rely solely on the text messaging system.

Types of Appointments

  • Pre-bookable appointments – these are for any routine problem.
  • Same day appointments – these are for all urgent problems that cannot wait until a routine appointment is available.
  • Telephone consultations – these are an alternative to visiting the surgery and examples of when they could be used are to discuss:- results; changes of medication; minor illnesses etc.
  • Evening and weekend appointments – you are able to book evening and weekend appointments at one of our Primary Care Manchester Hubs. Primary Care Manchester is a federation of GPs of which this practice belongs. Evening and weekend appointments can be made with a doctor, nurse or healthcare assistant. You may be offered one of these appointments when all the appointments at this practice are taken. You can however request one of these appointments if they are more convenient for you.

Telephone Advice

Some matters can be dealt with over the telephone. The practice now offers telephone consultations each day. These are an alternative to visiting the surgery and examples of when they could be used are to discuss results; changes of medication; minor illnesses etc.

If you would like to book a telephone consultation please ring 0161 223 5226 and speak to a member of the reception staff. These appointments are pre-bookable and it very unlikely a doctor will call you back the same day, unless you have an urgent medical problem.

We can only book an telephone consultation if you tell the receptionist why you need a call back. The doctors will not call you back if you don’t give a reason.
